Riding Club 2010
On Sunday the Riding Club re-commenced and we had our first lesson of the new term. It was great to welcome four new riders to the group and despite the chill in the air; our novices thoroughly enjoyed their first taste of riding, impressing the instructor with their enthusiasm and natural flair.
Meaghan , one of our new Junior boarders, Lena, Caroline and Anh were all taken through the basics with their instructor Lisa and even ended the lesson with a little bit of trotting.
Our advanced riders showed that they had not forgotten anything over the long holidays and skilfully mastered the very lively thoroughbreds they were riding! A quiet holiday period for the horses meant that they had a little too much energy and Laura gave everyone a lesson on how to stay in the saddle when your horse is stag leaping!! Linda, who was riding an uncharacteristically lively ‘Red’, showed us how to dismount with grace and style, even when you are not planning to!!
Some of our IB students are horse-riding for their CAS points and will soon be taking their Association of British Riding Schools (ABRS) exams, to add to their portfolio. Riding is not only a great way to keep fit, it is an exhilarating and exciting outdoors activity and with such great facilities, it’s a perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon. The club is full for the Lent term, however, if you are interested in joining the riding club for next term, please let me know as soon as possible as places are available on a first come first served basis.

Every Sunday – The bus leaves at 2pm prompt from the pick up point
And arrives back at Rossall for 5:30pm
