MCC in keeping with tradition batted first. The run rate was stifled by tight bowling and dogged fielding. Metcalfe taking 3 for 42 ahd Sahi 1 for 26. The MCC declared at 169 for 5 with 50 overs gone. Rossall's top batting order dramatically capitulated, but Gurav 27 and Redvers 23 not out, steadied the ship. Rossall ended 71 all out after 33 overs.

Stonyhurst 124 Rossall 127-3 Rossall win by 7 wickets.
Rossall won the toss and put Stonyhurst in on a damp track from early morning rain. Chris Metcalfe picked up the first wicket in the very first over of the game, but Stonyhurst settled and were looking good at 62-2. A series of wickets sparked by a superb catch by Akshendra Sahi put Stonyhurst in trouble at lunch on 94-7. After lunch it took a further 14 overs to dismiss Stonyhurst thanks to some stubborn resistance. Metcalfe 2-25, Sahi 2-47, Wilson 2-22 and Gogoi 3-8 were the pick of the Rossall bowlers.
In reply despite a couple of early wickets, Rossall dominated and won in the 26th over, half an hour after tea. Sahi finished on 86* and was supported well by Metcalfe (12*) and Alonso 20.
A terrific win against a good Stonyhurst.

Only a torrential downpour could resute Rossall from ignomius defeat on Saturday. Losing 4 wickets in our first 3 overs, chasing 245 on a good cricket surface, there was only one possible outcome. The positives to take away from the match were that there were some excellent deliveries bowled, mixed in with the long hops and full tosses, and some of the fielding was good. Timo patrolled the covers with authority, and restricted the run rate early on. Man of the match was God for stopping the carnage!

The 1st XI played in the Lancashire round of the national 20/20 competition which was hosted by Rossall. The boys were unlucky to be drawn in the semi-finals against the favourites Collegiate Cricket Academy, a side which included several junior county players. Rossall bowled well to restrict the Academy to 129 for 9 but then could only limp to 50 all out in reply. In the third place play-off QEGS Blackburn made 124 with Rossall reaching 90 at the end of their allotted overs.

Rossall U14 gained their 1st victory of the season in a close contest on the Anchor wicket last Tuesday evening. Put in to bat, Rossall crawled their way to 65 runs, with Jack Bradley holding the innings together with 26 runs against some tight bowling and prodigious off-spin, and March adding 12. Cardi were well up on the run rate in reply, with some shoddy fielding gifting runs and failing to take chances. Then, for the 2nd time, Jack Bradley frustrated the opposition with a spell of 4 overs, 2 wickets for 4 runs, plus a run out. Sensing the batting was failing, Rossall piled on the pressure, until 5 runs were required from just 2 overs, with a single wicket standing. A top edge off the bowling of Matthew Mosoph flew up to Brett Harker in the covers, who took his first ever catch to secure a memorable victory. Well done, team.
Man of the Match: Jack Bradley for an all-round contributio

With our strike bowlers Landmann and Marsh on family duty and ignoring warnings not to put King Eddie's in to bat, the bowlers were duly thrashed around the park, with 10 sixes and 32 fours taking the total to an unreachable 246 for 9. Matthew Mosoph was the best bowler, with 3 for 29. Expecting an easy victory, the visitors attacked the incoming batsmen with close fielders surrounding the bat. After one early wicket, Rossall dug in and silenced the fielders. Jack Bradley and Hannah Jenkinson (27) put on 50 for the next wicket, and we lost only two more wickets in the full 30 overs. In the face of good bowling and fielding, Jack completed his 50 with a six off the final ball, and Rossall ran out of time on 109 for3, showing great character, and gaining the respect of the opposition.

Rossall batted first and scored 259 for 3 in 32 overs. Following on from last week there was an even bigger partnership of 194 for the first wicket before Harrison Southern was out for an impressive 93. His opening partner Jack Morrison was out soon after for 65 and Luke Williams was 36 not out when he declared. In spite of the large score KEQM had bowled reasonably well but their fielding let them down. The KEQM innings was one of dogged defence as they batted for the draw from the first ball. One of their opening batsmen actually batted for 13 overs for 1 run. Rossall bowled aggressively but at the end of play KEQM were 126 for 9 off 33 overs. Luke and Jack both took 3 wickets. The match thus ended as a draw.
In the 8 games the U13s have played so far, the boys have scored 1079 runs with Luke scoring 255 at an average of 51, Jack 214 at 35 and Harrison 186 at 31. All opponents have only managed to score 509 runs against them with Williams taking 18 wickets and Charlie Andrews 15, both at an average of 5.

Good Rossall bowling stifled a weak St Aidan's side, allowing them just 48 runs before throwing 20 extras away in the last few overs. Landmann, Jenkinson, Matthew Mosoph and Bradley each took two wickets. In reply, Bradley and Richard Mosoph scored half of the runs, leaving extras to chip in for the rest. Jenkinson hit the winning runs, as Rossall passed the target with four wickets down and four overs left. A comfortable victory.

|
Put into bat by Baines, Rossall managed their highest 20 over total yet, with Bradley (23), Marsh (16), Wilson (27) and Fisher (18) all batting well to set a demanding target of 122 runs for just 4 wickets. This was done in spite of some good bowling on an inconsistent wicket. Baines made a steady attempt to reach the target, eventually coming within 9 runs. Landmann's tight spell of 1 for 5 from 4 overs and Bradley's 3 for 25, both put Baines under pressure. With eight wickets falling, Rossall were just about in control of their own fate, and deservedly gained their third victory in a row in the Blackpool Evening League.
